We last heard about the Nokia Lumia 929 at the beginning of October, when it was leaked as a potential replacement for the Lumia 928 at Verizon. Although it was a possible candidate for launch during Nokia’s October 22 event, it turned out to be a no-show, but according to a new report, the phone is now being tested by the carrier and may be announced soon.

Although we already had a basic idea of the Lumia 929’s spec sheet, a considerably more detailed set of features has been revealed by WPCentral.com, along with some high quality pictures of the phone itself. As expected, the Lumia 929 shown on the site has a 5-inch touchscreen with a 1080p resolution, and is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor.

If you’ve been following Windows Phone news recently, you’ll know these features are only possible if the phone is running the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile OS, known as Windows Phone 8 Update 3. It’s also installed on the Lumia 1520 (which is pictured above) and Lumia 1320, announced on October 22. Additional features of the Lumia 929 should include 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage space, NFC, and wireless charging. It’s also expected to connect to Verizon’s 4G LTE network.
Like Nokia’s other new Windows phones, the Lumia 929 should have a 20-megapixel PureView camera, but the xenon flash which made the Lumia 928 stand out may be replaced by a more standard dual-LED flash. As we saw in October’s leaked images, the Lumia 929 has either a black or white color scheme, while these latest snaps reveal a similar body style to the Lumia 928, complete with ceramic hardware keys and a metal band running around the chassis.

If the phone is being tested now, its release shouldn’t be far away. WPCentral’s source doesn’t nail down the date, but says it should be out between the end of November and the beginning of 2014.
